June Newsletter 3 (no pics)

Spirituality and Religion.
There are many things to be said about spirituality. Does it coincide with religion? Does it make one more intellectual? Whatever your questions about the two are, I am here to try to help you understand. Spirituality is the sense and ability to enjoy spirit in every form and fashion. Whereas religion is a community business based on one aspect of Spirituality. Christianity is a religion, Judaism is a religion, and Wicca is a religion, just to name some examples. But Spirituality is so much more than just one religion. It’s the relationship you have with your higher being. It’s the positive energy you attract from the universe and repel it back.

So whatever you chose to believe in and respect. Just know that unless you are hurting someone or something with your beliefs, you can never be wrong. Just because you don’t believe in Muhammad or Jesus doesn’t mean you going to burn for eternity. Happy days will follow you if you propel your mind in a state of victory. Never give up and always ask your deity for strength and knowledge. And don’t forget to thank! Would you like doing for someone who didn’t thank you?

Here is an affirmation you can use to start your day:
I am on top, in touch and in tune with my life. I like who I am and am glad to be me. I feel great and am in control of my time and myself. And every day and in every way I get a little better.”
~Marylin Garhart, 5th grade teacher

Spare the Air Day
This Spare the Air season the Air District and MTC are sponsoring one Free Transit Day, on Thursday, June 19. Transit will be free all day on San Francisco Bay Area bus and light-rail systems, and until 12 noon on BART, trains, and ferries. A planned free transit day allows people to plan their commute in advance—to adjust their morning schedule, get a transit buddy, and find the closest bus, BART, or train station. For help planning your commute, visit http://www.511.org/.

The Spare the Air Program was established by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District to educate people about air pollution, and to encourage them to change their behavior to prevent it
.

“Sometimes for two hearts to become closer, harsh situations are necessary.”

Marriage Equality Comes to California!
Beginning this week (June 16th @ 5:01 pm), California will truly become a state of equality as committed loving couples previously denied the joys, rights, and responsibilities of marriage go to county clerks' offices to apply for marriage licenses. From Crescent City to San Diego and everyplace in between, all loving couples will have the freedom to marry.

"I'm wishing everyone well with their marriages." ~ California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger

Help protect marriage equality in California.
This week’s marriages could be jeopardized in a matter of months if right-wing groups can whip up enough homophobic fervor to pass a discriminatory marriage ban on Election Day.Their attacks are intensifying, and we need your help urgently to defeat this measure and defend equality.
Donate to the Human Rights Campaign's California Marriage PAC and be a part of this remarkable campaign.
100 percent of your donation will go to the Equality for All campaign, of which HRC is a member, to stop the anti-GLBT ballot initiative.
